On March 29-31, 2006, NCORP and The Kennedy School of Government (KSG) at Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts, conducted a dual-purpose program on the challenges to community and business continuity during a crisis. The portion of the program scheduled for March 31 included the Northeast regional meeting of the Advisory Committee to the National Taskforce on Community Preparedness and Response. This was preceded on March 29/30 by a series of in-depth sessions to identify community and business best practices that help multiply response and recovery capability through regional and cross-jurisdictional cooperation and public/private mutual aid agreements. This program is part of the ReadyAmerica: The First 72 Hours initiative, to develop a national template of best practices for community preparedness and response leading up to and during the first hours of crisis.
